Provide leadership and staff support to the Willamette Curriculum Coalition
(WCC) in order to:
develop, implement, and evaluate professional
development programs that respond to school and teacher needs and foster
student progress toward state content and performance standards;
assist school districts in developing curricula
that are aligned with state standards;
assist school districts in developing
standards-based assessment programs and practices;
foster and support action research on ways to
improve student learning;
facilitate a regional network for the exchange
of school improvement ideas, resources, and solutions; and
seek, obtain, and manage grants to support and
extend the coalition's work.
Assist the Willamette ESD as a whole in research and evaluation projects.
Manage regional scoring centers for statewide performance assessment in
writing and mathematics problem solving, under contract with the Oregon
Department of Education.
Participate in committees and advisory groups established by the Oregon
Department of Education to advance statewide initiatives in
standards-based school improvement.
Assist the Oregon Department of Education in disseminating information
on policies, administrative rules, and professional development
opportunities related to standards-based schooling.
Participate in and contribute to the Oregon Association of Education
Service Districts (OAESD) Instructional Leadership Council.
