Attendance Calling

Willamette ESD offers attendance, emergency and convenience calling via School Messenger. Information from your student information system is securely transferred to a file formatted and ready for pick-up by School Messenger three times each day during the week. Your school obtains access to an interface allowing your office to make calls during windows within the school day for morning safe calling and after school for absence calling in regards to afternoon classes.

House Bill 3197 requires schools in Oregon to call home when a student is absent without an excuse. This call must be made during the school day. School Messenger via Willamette ESD provides two opportunities for morning safe calls meeting the requirements of the legislation.

It takes approximately 25 business days to set up School Messenger for your site or district from contract to calling. The speed with which the service can be implemented depends on where you store students’ data and how quickly information can be obtained from your district. There are many variables, please make sure you allow adequate time before your expected start date.

Pricing for the 2011-2012 academic year is $1.25 per ADM. There is a startup cost of $500. WESD purchases School Messenger licenses in bulk. Because we charge districts the same price we get a startup fee is necessary for development, account set-up and training costs.

If you receive information or a demonstration from the company’s representative please tell us up front what you are looking for from the service. If your district is interested in more advanced features you may want to contract directly with School Messenger.
