Voice or Touchtone Interface for Voicemail?

There are certain scenarios where voice-activated voicemail could be beneficial (e.g. hands-free access while driving). But in an office environment it can be distracting to co-workers. Here's how to turn it off:

If you press any number on the keypad, the system asks if you wish to use the touchtone interface. If so, press "0". This works just fine until you dial your voicemail again and find that it is once again voice-activated. To make the changes permanent, do the following:

  1. Dial into your voicemail and enter the PIN when prompted.
  2. Next say: "Personal Options"
  3. Press number "4" on the phone keypad.

To switch back to using the voice interface, do the following:

  1. Dial into your voicemail and enter the PIN when prompted.
  2. Press number "6" on the phone keypad
  3. Press number "4" on the phone keypad
