WESD Receives 2010-11 Financial Report

At the January 10th meeting of the WESD Board of Directors WESD received the Annual Financial Report for the year ended June 30, 2011.  This report was completed by Pauly, Rogers and Company, PC.  The report is the annual independent fiscal audit of WESD and includes the single audit of the agency’s activities that are federally funded. 

School Districts Affirm WESD as Regional Service Provider

November 1st marked the new statutory deadline for school districts that want to withdraw from their ESD to provide notice of their intent to do so. This new law allows a school district in one of several ESDs to receive their allocation of State School Fund revenue directly, and change their collaboration with the ESD in addressing the Local Service Plan. Twelve of WESD's component school districts have decided to fully support the current partnership and remain component districts.

WESD Leads Statewide Youth Corrections Curriculum Development

WESD's School Improvement & Instructional Services Department hosted Youth Corrections Education Program (YCEP) professionals on November 18th in the first of several sessions aimed at redesign and standardization of the statewide YCEP curriculum.  YCEP sites across Oregon will benefit from WESD's leadership in aligning curriculum with the Common Core State Standards and bringing consistency to education throughout the system.
