National Migrant Education HOTLINE

1-800-234-8848

The National Migrant Education Hotline provides a toll-free number (1-800-234-8848) for migrant farm workers and their families to call from anywhere in the country. The Hotline is designed to assist in enrolling migrant children in school and to provide access to migrant education program services. Hotline Specialists, who take calls, also refer callers to appropriate agencies and organizations when they need other supportive services such as housing, transportation, health or legal aid.

Oregon's Hotline Specialist is Judy Weaver, program trainer for parent involvement at the MESC. She can be reached at 503-385-4678 or judy.weaver@wesd.org.

The MESC refers incoming calls to local migrant programs. The local programs then refer the families to the appropriate agencies and organizations within their community.
