Consultation: Consultation on eligibility, and helping your team deal with the often-complex needs of a student with TBI. We can also assist your district to transition a student with a TBI from hospital back into the school system.
Training: Training may include general information such as TBI 101 or can be specifically geared to the needs of your staff.
Assistive technology: Assistive Technology (AT) services can help students access their school environment and curriculum. In some cases, AT can be used to ameliorate the effects of TBI.
Our AT services may include the following.
- Collaboration with your district to assess your current technology and to determine if it could be used for your TBI students.
- Determining with your team, which assistive technology devices might be useful to trial with a student.
- Instructing teachers and student in use of AT. In some cases a school wide in-service can be useful, to make sure that the AT recommended for the student can be used across all relevant classes or locations.
- In the near future we will have a loaning library of AT that can be used on a short-term basis. This will allow your district to trial devices and determine which would be useful before making a purchase.
