The Willamette Career Academy will harness the power of regional partnerships and collaboration to serve students and business partners from multiple high schools from an initial 11 school districts across Marion, Polk, and Yamhill counties.

"We couldn't be more excited about providing expanded opportunities to our students, the hands-on type of learning we know they crave." ~ Ginger Redlinger, North Marion School District Superintendent

The Willamette Career Academy will allow students to explore and engage in-demand career and technical education programs such as cosmetology, diesel mechanics, and health services. Fall of 2022, additional attractive programs, including construction, information technology, and manufacturing, will be added to the center's available offerings.

"As a Willamette ESD Board member, I represent the interests of business and industry. I'm excited about this program and what it will mean for our communities, families, and students." Frank Pender, WESD Board Chair

The idea and initial funding for the center resulted from a private-public partnership between Mountain West Investment Corporation (MWIC), founded by Larry Tokarski and the Willamette Education Service District (WESD), led by Superintendent Dr. Dave Novotney. Through MWIC's tireless and generous support, design work is already well underway. Ongoing funding to support the programs and staff will come from participating districts joining forces to provide students more real-world learning options.

"The Willamette Career Academy is another example of how the Willamette Education Service District thinks outside of the box to work with partner districts and the business community to create expanded opportunities for students to succeed." ~ Dr. Dave Novotney, WESD Superintendent

One of the best things about this career and technical education center model is that participating students will remain a part of their local school community. The center will provide students a place to learn, away from their home campus, representing a unique opportunity and a direct connection with local business and industry.
