Superintendent
Joe Morelock, Ph.D.
Dr. Joe Morelock joined Willamette ESD as Superintendent on July 1, 2023. He is a seasoned educator with a wide-ranging background, including that of a Spanish teacher, librarian, technology director, assistant superintendent, and superintendent at the Newberg and Woodburn School Districts.
Dr. Joe earned his Doctorate of Education at Portland State University, his Master’s of Teaching at Pacific University, and a B.A. in Hispanic Studies at Lewis & Clark.
His professional accomplishments include helping to launch a wellness center in Newberg, expanding access to dual-language programs, being an Apple Distinguished Educator who was asked to speak around the world, and helping to pass the second-largest school bond in Oregon.
Deputy Superintendent
Michael Beck
Michael Beck joined the Willamette ESD team in 2015 as the Executive Director of Human Resources and was named Deputy Superintendent in August of 2021.
Michael received an M.S. in Education from Portland State University and a B.S. in Business Management from Oregon State University. He completed the Oregon Initial and Continuing Administrative license programs at Portland State University.
He began his career in education in 2001 as a high school business education teacher and a technical education teacher. Prior administrative experience includes serving as the Dallas High School assistant principal from 2006-11 and the Crescent Valley High School assistant principal and College Hill High School principal from 2011-14.
Executive Assistant
Tishri Tucker
Tishri Tucker joined the Executive Administration of the Willamette ESD in 2001 as the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent and to the Board of Directors. She began her career with Willamette ESD in 1992, having served in various capacities in several departments, including Special Education, Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education, and the agency's Central Office.
Tishri is actively involved in providing key coordination and communication between Willamette ESD and its partner school districts.
Executive Assistant
Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson began his career with Willamette ESD in 2014, starting as a Receptionist. From there, he moved to a Senior Clerical Specialist position with our Special Education Department before spending five years as the Administrative Assistant for the Human Resources Department.
Michael provides executive-level administrative support that facilitates the effective operation of the office of the Deputy Superintendent, the WESD Leadership Team, and district programs.
