The Center for Education. Innovation, Evaluation, and Research (the Center) is a data-centered hub providing services throughout the region.

Notable accomplishments include:

• The Center has grown from serving 21 districts to 124 districts as well as 12 Education Service Districts, along with several higher education institutions and non-profit organizations

• Support and strengthen the Oregon Data Suite (ODS) which tracks student progress such as grades, attendance, graduation progress, and more across the state

• Data from Oregon Data Suite is now accessible to teachers as well as administrators

• The Center, in collaboration with ODE, played a pivotal role in providing school reopening metrics through a publicly available website during the 2020-2021 school year

The Facilities team keeps us safe and ensures operations are running smoothly.

Notable accomplishments include:

• Fiscally conscientious remodel of the Marion Center

• Creation of the Professional Learning Center for internal and external use

• Increased sanitation response over the course of the pandemic

• Oversite of the School Safety Team which covers many services including regional youth suicide prevention

The Oregon Migrant Education Services Center has provided assistance to families throughout the state.

Notable accomplishments include:

• The Oregon Migrant Education Program, (MEP), has grown from the 5th largest funded program to the 3rd largest, due to the great collaboration of the OMESC and local MEP teams

• Ongoing management of operations and technical support of the Oregon Migrant Student Information System (OMSIS), including the quality control and eligibility regarding the statewide Mobile Certificate of Eligibility (COE)

• Collaborates annually with various statewide partners to host Mexican teachers to teach in Migrant Education Program Summer Programs while also serving as a point of contact for various states for J1 Visa Program, connecting international educators with host schools

• Coordination and hosting of annual Statewide Migrant Education Conferences for staff, parents, and high school students

“Effective, Innovative & Equitable Services”

School Improvement Services Department provides a variety of services that focus on improving teaching and learning in our region.

Notable accomplishments include:

• Launch of the Willamette Promise program, providing college-level credits to high school students while preparing them for the next steps in their education

• Planning, construction, and launch of the Willamette Career Academy

• Creation and implementation of the student success team

• Advanced the juvenile education program by implementing a career and technical education program refresh

The Technology team provides behind-the-scenes support to every department and district.

Notable accomplishments include:

• Collaborated with districts statewide to support distance learning

• Streamlined the substitute teacher hiring process to fill needed positions

• Increased education for staff to reduce cyber security threats

• Provide hosting services for multiple platforms including Canvas, Oregon Data Suite, PowerSchool, and more in order to reduce costs for partner districts
