About Preschool Promise
About Preschool Promise
Preschool Promise is a state-funded program that provides income-eligible families with free, high-quality preschool for their children in a variety of settings. Programs typically deliver 900 hours of instruction between September and June. They provide nutritious meals and snacks, parent-teacher conferences, child assessments and developmental screenings.
The WESD Preschool Promise program uses the HighScope Curriculum which is focused on active, child-led learning through positive interactions in a child-friendly learning environment. The HighScope approach addresses the whole child and uses research-based practices to support learning, creativity and independence.
