JOB SUMMARY
The Bilingual Migrant Education (TOSA) will plan and provide direct instruction to migrant students on-site (classroom) and/or off-site (home, alternative locations or virtually) through all qualifying school districts serviced by the WESD as part of the Willamette Migrant Education Program (MEP). The MEP identifies and provides services to migrant families with children ages 3-21 by working with families and school districts across Marion, Polk, Yamhill, Lane, Linn, Benton, and Lincoln counties. MEP coordinates and supports supplemental summer school extensions for eligible migrant students.
This is a temporary position for Summer School. Days, hours, and site locations to be determined.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Promotes parent involvement by planning and scheduling home visits, maintaining an open and cooperative relationship with each child’s family, sharing information with parents about their child’s experience, and ensuring that information and services are provided to the parents in their primary language.
- Develops appropriate systems to regularly monitor educational progress and maintains/completes records and reports as required by program procedures.
- Provides direct instruction to students ages 3-21 in various situations and settings.
- Serves as a resource to staff on best practices instructional strategies, curriculum scope and sequence, use of curriculum, or instructional data review.
- Effectively facilitates small and large group instruction.
- Demonstrates proficiency in planning, organizing and coordination of assigned tasks.
- Coordinates and communicates with migrant families in order to register students to the various migrant summer school programs.
- Coordinates schedules for home visit and/or virtual visits, and instructional time.

JOB SUMMARY
This Career Facilitator for the Juntos Educational Program will assist in providing local leadership, coordination, and programming throughout Marion, Polk, and Yamhill counties within the Willamette Education Service District, as well as at Chemeketa Community College. They will work to provide 8th-12th grade Latino students and families with knowledge, skills, and resources to support students throughout high school and develop post-secondary plans through curricula, school clubs, workshops, camps, community service, and more.
This is a temporary position; days and hours worked to be determined.

- Collaborate with WCA school administration to identify and engage local partners and Juntos Facilitators.
- Assist in developing educational programming implemented through student clubs and family nights in partnership with the Juntos approved curricula, materials, and information
- Collaborate on the implementation of Juntos high school curricula with programming connected to Chemeketa Community College. Establish contacts at each school.
- Assist in the facilitation of Juntos Family Nights, college visits, Juntos Student Club/Mentoring to students and families from Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties as well as Chemeketa Community College.
- Work in partnership with 4-H to assist in developing youth programming for Latino community members during summer.
- Collaborate with WCA staff, partner districts and community college on all program needs and expenses.
- Assist with analyzing the OSU Juntos program effectiveness using Institutional Review Board (IRB) approved protocols and data entry practices.
- Keep accurate records and provide necessary reports as requested to document program effectiveness.
- Promote Juntos and recruit families to participate.
- Cultivate and maintain partnerships with school and community partners including advocacy organizations.

JOB SUMMARY
The Oregon Legislature created the Educator Advancement Council through the passage of Senate Bill 182. The Council expands Oregon’s efforts to further support educators statewide including, but not limited to:
- Supporting the Oregon Teacher Scholars Program to help achieve purposes of the Educator’s Equity Act, including scholarships, mentoring, networking, and other resources for racially or linguistically diverse teaching candidates.
- Researching and addressing issues related to educator workforce supply and demand.
- The system is not organized around a solution, program, or an initiative, but rather around improving systems of support for educators along the educator advancement continuum.
- Funding will help develop and expand programs to better serve and support students of color, students with disabilities, emerging bilingual students, and students navigating poverty, houselessness, and foster care. The Grow Your Own (GYO) program was implemented to support local and regional partnerships designed with the whole school system in mind to address conditions affecting the recruitment and retention of educators across the career continuum.
