Early Childhood Education
The Oregon Migrant Education Service center (OMESC) provides statewide training, coaching, and technical assistance to Early Childhood Education Specialists within Oregon’s Migrant Education Program (MEP).
ECE Specialists play a vital role in supporting migrant students by:
-
Encouraging and assisting families with migrant students to participate in preschool programs.
-
Providing direct instruction through Migrant Preschool and Summer School programs.
-
Conducting home visits to offer parents guidance and resources that help them support their children’s learning at home.
Through these efforts, ECE Specialists expand educational opportunities and strengthen support systems for migrant children and their families across Oregon.
