Positions: High School to Highway Trainee and Youth Litter Patrol

Info: ODOT’s High School to Highway Trainee Program offers a yearlong, hands-on opportunity starting July 1, 2025, for students to work outdoors on a maintenance crew, repairing and preserving roadways, bridges, and structures while learning from a dedicated mentor. The Litter Patrol position is a short-term job ideal for those who enjoy working outside in a team, helping keep highways clean and safe. No experience is needed for either role—just a willingness to work hard and learn!

Info: RiverBend Materials offers two paid summer internships for high school students interested in hands-on learning. Interns can choose to work in Quality Control, testing asphalt and aggregate materials in the field, or in the Equipment Shop, supporting maintenance, inventory, and safety inspections. Both roles pay $20/hour, run from June 24 to August 16, and provide valuable on-the-job experience.
