    Mission Statement

    Through collaboration, provide leadership, professional development, and consultation to ensure program compliance and academic success of migrant children. 

    The Oregon Migrant Education Service Center (OMESC), in collaboration with Oregon Department of Education's Title I Part C Migrant Education Program, provides professional development, technical support, and program planning consistent with the needs of the regional programs serving eligible migrant students. These needs include, but are not limited to, Identification & Recruitment, Records Exchange, Family Involvement, Bi-national Programs, & Educational Best Practices. Our vision is to provide effective, innovative, and equitable services. 


2022 Migrant Education Conference and Parent Institute

  • The Oregon Migrant Education Service Center has two events that are coming up in November, the Migrant Education Program Conference and The Parent Institute. 2022 The MEP Conference is scheduled for Friday, November 4, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. –  4:30 p.m. and Parent Institute, Saturday, November 5, 2022, 8:00 a.m. –  3:30 p.m. During the MEP Conference, the SPAC will be meeting for part of the day. Both events will be held at:

    • Chemeketa Community College
    • 4000 Lancaster Drive NE, Salem, OR 97305

    On both days, the opening session will be in the Auditorium (Building 6) and the Breakout Sessions in Building 8 (follow link to see map).

    For those of you staying overnight in Salem, we have provided a list of hotels close to Chemeketa Community College and the Willamette Education Service District. Click Here for a list of the hotels.
