Discovery Academy received a donation from the Oregon State Elks Association as part of a statewide effort to support students in recovery. The funding will help strengthen programs that support both academic success and sobriety.

Students from across the Willamette Valley stepped into the spotlight to share their voices during a youth panel at the 4th annual Marion-Polk Children, Youth and Families Services Summit on March 4.

WESD, in partnership with Oregon’s School Safety & Prevention Specialist team, earned a special certification to train others in the Oregon Model of Behavior Safety Assessment.

The Oregon Department of Education (ODE), in partnership with the Oregon Lottery, will announce Korrie Shull as one of Oregon’s 16 2025-26 Regional Teachers of the Year! Shull teaches Agriculture Sciences and Technology at John. F. Kennedy High School in Mt. Angel.
