Once a student has earned college credit through Western Oregon University, this information becomes private and can only be obtained by the owner (the student) of record. In accordance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Willamette Promise nor Western Oregon University can provide parents or guardians information regarding their student's college credits. Students may grant permission to have their records shared with their parent or guardian by contacting Willamette Promise or Western Oregon University.

Western Oregon University is committed to the privacy and security of our students. The Student Records Policy outlines the policies established by the university to maintain the confidentiality of students’ education records and to comply with the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which provides guidelines for maintaining the confidentiality of education records and monitoring the release of information from those records. Student records maintained by WOU are records of enrollment in a post-secondary institution, therefore the rights related to those records are conferred upon the student, not parents.
