The WESD Wellness Squad is proud to announce the Wellness Activities calendar for the 2023-2024 school year. This document will be continuously updated as the group plans activities, but this is a basic outline of what can be expected for the year. Please refer to the color key on the right side of the calendar for what each color means.

Potlucks at WESD Sites Who doesn't love a potluck? WESD will be hosting potlucks (or alternative meals) at the following sites. The WESD Wellness Squad will be providing some of the main dishes (see signup lists), but please sign up to bring a dish to share!

Embrace the beauty of nature with us! Join our group for four outdoor adventures. Explore stunning landscapes and forge connections with fellow nature enthusiasts. People of all experience levels and ages are welcome – mark your calendars and invite your friends and family! New to adventuring outside? Join our Hiking 101 class on Dec 9th at 10 am at the Marion Center. The class will cover proper gear and clothing, trail etiquette, and safety tips. Get prepared for our first hike of the season, which takes place after the class.

For the last 30 years the Gubser neighborhood in Keizer, Oregon celebrates the holidays by decorating their homes in thousands of twinkling lights and holiday items. They also collect non-perishable food items and monetary donations for the Marion Polk Food Share program. 

This year, we are inviting our staff and their families to visit the lights with us! We will be passing out hot chocolate and taking a group picture before venturing into the neighborhood winter wonderland in our vehicles. Feel free to wear your favorite holiday pajamas and bring your family! ☕

Join us for a Cookie Exchange on December 11th at the Marion Center. The event kicks off at 5:00 pm and wraps up at 6:00 pm. Everyone is invited, so mark your calendars.

We encourage participants to bake or bring store-bought cookies, but please limit your contribution to at least 1 dozen and no more than 2 dozen. To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, kindly label your delightful treats with their ingredients, highlighting any potential allergens like gluten, nuts, eggs, etc.

Marion Center Mindfulness Room
Don't forget that the Marion Center Mindfulness Room is available once a month! Below are the dates it will be available to staff. We would love for you to join us to relax and unwind - if only for a few minutes. The room is available for use betwen 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
